| 1. Why are you called a
"healing arts" center?
While advanced knowledge of medical
terms, conditions, and treatments is essential, our goal is to also incorporate the art of
providing health care in a truly personalized way that honors the individual and conveys a
desire to join in partnership with patients to achieve optimum health.
The Healing Arts Center practitioner strives to become an artisan in
treating the body as an integrated system.
We recognize that your
heart is undeniably affected by what occurs in your liver,
thyroid, colon, and kidney. The patients thoughts, feelings, and actions are all viewed as important elements in the healing process.
Healing arts provided at the Center include:
Osteopathy
Life Coping Strategies

2. How is "integrative" medicine different
from any other kind of healthcare?
We have a philosophy of medicine that incorporates the best of
conventional techniques of Western medicine with the most effective complementary healing
practices, including Eastern medicine and modern technology. Every person on the staff is
dedicated to healing the mind and body. Getting at the cause of disease is the
focus.
Increasing numbers of people are looking for more natural methods of
healing and are turning to those who offer integrative care. Integrative care is designed
with the patient in mind, recognizing the importance of self-empowerment in healing.
The
patient is assisted in taking an active role in the process of healing, physically and
mentally. When all else has failed, patients often find welcomed benefits from an
integrative approach that addresses the wholeness of their being rather than focusing on
their gall bladder, blood pressure or aching back.
Western medicine is irreplaceable for a crisis situation such as a
ruptured appendix, a broken leg, or an overwhelming case of pneumonia. On the other hand,
allergies, fatigue, headaches, and chronic pain are offered little relief through
conventional medicine, except for suppressing symptoms.

10. If Ive had allergies most of my life, can your new treatment
actually eliminate them?
Dr. Devi Nambudripad developed a technique called Nambudripads Allergy
Elimination Technique (N.A.E.T.) that is a safe, effective natural approach to detecting
and eliminating all types of allergies.
N.A.E.T. combines techniques from Kinesiology (muscle strength
testing), Chiropractic, and Oriental Medicine, to clear allergic reactions through a
"reprogramming" of the brain.
The brain of an allergic person views the allergen as a threat and creates a blockage
in the normal flow of energy through the bodys electrical circuits. N.A.E.T.
identifies the individualized allergens, corrects the brains perception of the
threat, and desensitizes the body.
Allergies affecting the physical, nutritional, and emotional
processes of the patient can be successfully eliminated, permitting the body to resume
normal healing and to rebalance.

11. Why do you sell supplements at The Medicine Tree? Cant I
get them at the health food store for less money?
Many treatment modalities incorporate nutritional supplements, herbs, and homeopathic
remedies to address dietary deficiencies, metabolic dysfunction, and biochemical
imbalances, as well as to tonify the bodys energy. By addressing the
underlying causes of ailments and boosting the bodys inner healing abilities,
patients can avoid the unpleasant and potentially dangerous side effects of pharmaceutical
drugs that primarily suppress symptoms, without actually correcting their hidden causes.
Our on-site Medicine Tree provides you with the highest quality of products available only
to professionals, proven by research and experience to be biochemically active,
efficiently utilizable by the human body, and free from common allergenic substances that
may hinder the healing processes of sensitive patients.
Not all products labeled as a particular vitamin or mineral are equal---they differ in
sources of ingredients, processing methods, binders and fillers, and balance of
formulations. Our products represent an excellent investment, based on the personal and
professional experiences of our practitioners.
